Phimosis – What Is It And How To Treat It

Phimosis is tightening of the end of the foreskin of the penis, so much so that the foreskin cannot be retracted back over the head (glans) of the penis.

This can result in pain during intercourse as with friction the foreskin will attempt to pull back over the glans even though it is not wide enough.

Phimosis most often a result of an infection such as balantis, often resulting from bad hygiene practices. Repeated infections result in scarring forming at the tip of the foreskin

Antibiotics can be used to treat infections other treatment includes making a small incision, partial (known as a dorsal slit) or complete circumcision.

Some sufferers have reported curing their Phimosis by using steroidal cream on the band of scarring that forms toward the tip of the foreskin and then holding the foreskin in a stretched position for a prolonged period of time.
